Dementia Friends
Dementia Friendly Dallas is championing Dementia Friends
Education sessions to further create a Dementia Friendly
culture. Through the Dementia Friend education, individuals
become aware of the signs and symptoms of dementia and
learn best practices for communication. Additionally,
participants learn the differences between typical aging and
the signs and symptoms of dementia and they learn five key
messages presented by persons with dementia.
The goal for the Dementia Friends initiative is to impact the individual behavior of citizens of all ages so that
our friends with dementia can live, age and thrive safely in our communities. Dementia Friends learn to take
their learning and turn it into purposeful action. It is up to all of us to help reduce the stigma of dementia.
To learn more or to book a 1-hour dementia friend education session for your organization, family, club,

Additionally, DFD offers monthly virtual sessions on the 2nd Tuesday of every month, 12 noon-1pm. These
sessions are facilitated by volunteer Jane Hunley who also serves as our Dementia Friend Champion.
